What does SPC mean?
SPC is the acronym for STONE POLYMER COMPOSITE a compound of dust, stone and PVC. The floor turns out to be extremely impact resistant and virtually indestructible.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU WANTING TO INSTALL IT?
It is possible to install this floor in both domestic and commercial settings by choosing between a 0,3 mm or 0,5 mm anti-wear surface layer based on the intensity of traffic and your needs. It can be implemented on any substrate, even on old floors with joints or heating systems. Installation on hard and flat surfaces is always preferred. The presence of the lower mat with a thickness from 1,0 mm to 1,5 mm combined and specific to these floors, is able to regularize some slight irregularities. The BAUFLOOR® SPC floors coupled with the 1,5 mm thick underlay are able to also guarantee high acoustic insulation levels.
WHY CHOOSE THE SPC BAUFLOOR® FLOOR?
Vinyl has a reputation for being flexible and less sturdy than traditional wood or laminate flooring. BAUFLOOR® SPC vinyl flooring revolutionises all of this since its rigid PVC core gives it unprecedented strength and durability. This type of flooring can have a very small thickness and exists in different formats, according to anyone’s needs and tastes. It is the most valid solution on the market, specifically designed to resist wear and tear in environments trafficated by people. A wide assortment that includes the warmest colors of wood up to the most austere shades of stone, both in planks and tiles.
HOW IS A SPC BAUFLOOR® FLOOR MADE?
SPC hard core vinyl flooring generally consists of 5 layers (may vary by manufacturer).
1 – Anti fade UV coating
2 – WEAR-RESISTANT LAYER
Enchance the protection of the floor from dents, scratches, etc. The thicker the wear layer the greater the protection. It can have two thicknesses of 0,3 mm or 0,5 mm depending on installation environment. The 0,3 mm layer is indicated for domestic environments, while the 0,5 mm layer is indicated for commercial environments frequented by people, not by goods handling vehicles.
3 – LAYER OF PRINTED VINYL
It incorporates the graphics, pattern, style and color which make it very similar to natural materials such as stone and wood.
4 – CORE SPC
The solid and waterproof core of floor. It doesn’t wrinkle or swell, no matter what liquid you expose it to. This core is ultra-dense without the use of foaming agents. The core is made from a composite of mineral powders and vinyl. Strong points: resilience and durability.
5 – SOUND MAT
Made of IXPE with a thickness of generally 1,0 – 1,5 mm, it guarantees acoustic comfort against foot traffic and allows installation even on slightly irregular surfaces.
